Tonneau on 930

22 apr 2009 16:17

I got this in the post yesterday from the last owner and was wondering if anyone has ever seen one on a 930 before or is this a Ruf eccentricity? Also I thought they were only made for cars with no roof  what do you all think.

can anyone tell me the correct name for this sort of cover?

Am I the only one who can't see your pictures? Tried both Firefox and Safari, to no avail.

Impact Bumper

The Ruf is mine, but i havnt figured out all the differences between it and a standard 930 cabrio. Thats why i ask if anyone has seen this kind of cover on a standard porsche 930 cab.

Ah, I see the pics now. That is indeed a tonneau cover, more common on MGAs, Triumph TRs, Austin-Healeys etc. For the hardcore idiots who insist on driving top down in any weather.

The looks are terrible in mijn ogen!

If you want to ride in the rain then this is a way to keep the rest of the car dry... (and the small people how are sitting under that thing)
