The 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 RS has been spied for the very first time ahead of what is believed to be a full reveal later this year.
The highly anticipated 911 GT3 RS was spotted featuring the side air intakes of the 911 Turbo along with a large rear wing and wider tracks. It also came equipped with large alloy wheelsmirroring those on the 918 Spyder while at the back there was a central dual exhaust and more air intakes in the bumper. It should be mentioned the prototype had some camouflage on the middle of the roof and hood which indicates Porsche has planned additional aerodynamic optimization.
From what we know so far, the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS will be offered only with a PDK gearbox that will be updated with a different shifting strategy and revised gear ratios. Power will come from the familiar 3.8 six-cylinder which will receive a minor power bump so expect more than the 475 HP (349 kW) available in the GT3.
Aside from being more powerful and aero efficient, the 911 GT3 RS will lose some weight as Porsche plans on installing lighter body panels, stripping out the cabin and putting thinner glass windows.
An official reveal could occur in October at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
