You are looking at the very first production photos of the @nardone_automotive 928 Restomod designed by Milanese studio @borromeodesilva.
Nardone Automotive offers a series of changes to the Porsche 928 to transform it into a tailor-made GT: The bodywork is made almost entirely of composite materials developed in collaboration with @podium_adv_tech (the fabricators responsible for the beloved @AutomobiliAmos project). Iconic details unique to the 928 legacy like the pop-up front lights and the rear light bar have been lovingly reshaped through a more modern lens.
Even the forged 18-inch wheels pull their inspiration from the classic ‘manhole’ 16-inch wheel that was signature to the original 928. The interior has been completely revised and simplified, incorporating Foglizzo leather and Alcantara. The infotainment has also been updated to a re-skinned Porsche Classic Management system which incporporates Apple Car Play paired with a luxury hi-fi system.
From a technical point of view, the 928 from Nardone Automotive relies on the classic V8 engine tuned to deliver 400bhp. Managed by a modern engine control unit and paired to a modern 6-speed manual with a limited-slip differential. Finally, the chassis setup utilizes a redesigned front and rear axle and spindle, actively controlled electronic suspension, enlarged brakes and adaptive electric power steering.
When asked, designer @carloludovico explains his thinking behind the project: “The 928 has always been unique in the Porsche cannon, lauded for its technical advancements it earned the designation “Car of the Year” in 1978. It was and still remains a very special car, yet it only achieved roughly 60,000 units in sales during its 17 year production run.
The 911 correctly receives endless attention from the customization community, but we felt it was time to shed light on the 928 platform and give it the love that it deserves.”
After its launch tonight at Milano Design Week, Nardone Automotive's 928 will be in the spotlight at one of the most anticipated automotive events of the year, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, from 23 to 26 June, in the UK.
