Ik zet rechtstreeks 12v op het ventilatortje en zou altijd moeten starten.

A little update to the fan. I did my best to fix it and I think I did it (my opinion below):
The main reason fir failure is NOT lubrication, as other DIY explain. The bearings are brass and those are most of the time supposed to run dry. The little shaft of the rotor itself has two shoulders which define its axial position in the system. The bottom one is of major importance, since it sets the distance to the coil and magnet below. The shaft is pressed and moves easily when worn over the years. Sooner or later to rotor base starts to rub against the assembly base, which leads to friction. I repositioned the shaft with a small hammer and fixed it with a drop of glue. Fan runs perfect now!
