Wheel Well Cover 10mm Socket
Jack up the rear of the Boxster on one side and remove the tire. Remove the black plastic front wheel well cover using the 10mm socket. The spark plugs are located toward the front of the wheel well so you should see them easily.
1) Remove the 5mm screws that hold the coils on top of the spark plugs. You will have to use the allen wrench to loosen some of them since there is not enough room for the ratchet wrench and socket. I use the allen wrench to pop all of them loose then I use the socket with my fingers to unscrew them.
2) Pull the plug wire end (coil) off the spark plug. Remove the plugs with the small spark plug socket and extensions. The reason you need two short extensions is because of the lack of room on top of the front plugs. You have to put the socket with one extension into the cylinder then snap the second extension and the rachet wrench in to remove the plug. You may want to unplug the coil from the plug wire to make sure there is no corrosion on the coil contacts. If you do this, make sure it snaps tight when you plug it back in.
3) Installation is the reverse of removal. When installing the new plugs, put some anti-seize on the plug threads to keep them from fusing to the block.
